Paddle paddle to the sea, if you find me let me be...

Did you ever feel like you've lived your whole life by someone else's rules and regulations? You start off doing what you are told by your parents and then the school phenomena takes a hold of your life for a good and possibly solid 18 years.

After that hazardous road that you struggled on, getting a few flat tires, broken hearts, and shots of tequila along the way, the road starts to dissolve from that asphalt that you were familiar with; the concrete highways you traveled so long you knew the route in your sleep. This road drops off and becomes more like a river. The waters rise up and take you from your relatively safe, sheltered car and turns into a small boat, equipped with just a 30hp engine and one life vest. That engine can take you to the sea if you choose to, and the vest can keep you afloat when the boat can no longer serve its purpose. So, getting use to the calm waters of the bay, not even testing the ocean, you begin the same path. But eventually as the saying goes, all things must lead to the sea, and you must ride into those turbulent waters with just your life vest and no map. The one thing that can help you is to know which way points north.

But do you know the right way?

I've struggled with this question myself a lot lately. I've always had a plan that always began and ended with school. Now that's over I have nothing planned, not really. I got a degree, my compass in my life really, but now I'm simply waiting to see where it will point me. I'm a lose boat at sea and my only real hope, my life vest, isn't accessible because deep down, maybe I want to drown in the sea of the unknown to experience things I haven't before. Why not be daring and choose the road less traveled by for a change.

I don't know what I'm doing with my life just yet, but for now, I will trade my little boat in for a slick, waxed surf board and ride the waves, sort to speak, until I crash upon my destined shore.

Cheers.
